I had an idea a long while ago to create affirmation cards for moms. I envisioned a small deck of cards with hand made art and an affirmation or mantra on each one. The idea is to pull one out at random when you feel the need, and perhaps it will be a message that you need at that moment. I kept talking myself out of it or making excuses that I couldn’t do it. I’m tired of disappointing myself so here I am testing the waters. Below are some of my ‘momtras’ – affirmations for moms.
Artwork
I have a couple of pieces that I designed digitally, but I think I’m going to move in the direction of hand painted or drawn cards. I want to keep the art theme the same, but I still wanted to share these drafts and see what you might think:

How I’ve used a Mantra
One of my favorite mantras that has honestly helped boost my confidence is the first image you see, “Walk into the room like God put you there, because he did”. Whether you believe in God, spirit, the universe you can use this mantra for any of those.
Honestly I used to walk with a lot of confidence, a lot of that came from wanting to be a model when I was younger and just assuming the role wherever I went (acting like I was being photographed). I never realized the positive impact it had on my confidence and even my posture until it kind of just wasn’t there anymore. I notice now that I sag my shoulders, I take lazy steps, I keep my eyes down. When I find myself doing that I repeat this mantra and it brightens my day.
My ‘momtra’ list
I’ve began a list of the mantras I would love to create cards for, and I would love to share them here so that you can browse through and see if any of these resonate for you:
- I am in control of today
- It’s okay to take a break
- I am exactly the mother my kids need
- I am worthy of love
- My identity is not gone, it has evolved
- I am grateful for my children
- Motherhood looks good on me
It’s a work in progress! I would like to try to get to 30 or so quotes/affirmations to make a sizable card deck. Although it’s only a few right now I hope that perhaps one has inspired or helped you.
